21. Season Segments

Season Segments
  1. General - Season segments are the parts of an individual sports season as defined by the sports governing league. They can be treated the same or differently in the CBA, as the household defines their individual rules through negotiation.

  2. Pre-season - SWA members recognize the 'pre-season' as the time The sports pre-season is the time before the regular season starts. It is used for training and practicing before the games begin. The pre-season for one sport may overlay the playoffs of another sport and the prior placed on these game shall be deemed by the SWA member during his weekly household meeting. Pre-season games typically get lower priority, regardless if favorite athletes or teams are involved.

  3. Regular season - The regular season is when each team plays a set number of games in order to compete for a spot in the playoffs. The regular season for one sport may overlay the pre-season of another sport and the priority placed on these game shall be deemed by the SWA member during his weekly household meeting. Regular season games typically are more important to SWA members.

  4. Post-season or playoffs - The post-season or playoffs is when the top teams from the regular season compete against each other until there is a winner. Playoff games are given the highest priority with the CBA, as it relates to the household weekly calendar. SWA member are entitled to a 15% increase in all task, errand, to-do list request deadlines as well as any in-game viewing expectations.

  5. Finals - The finals are the last round of the playoffs where only two teams remain. SWA members reserve the right to place top priority on finals games, especially when favorite athletes or teams are playing. SWA members are entitled to a 25% increase in all task, errand, to-do list request deadlines as well as any in-game viewing expectations.

  6. Off-season - The off-season is the period of time after the final tournament or game of the season and before the pre-season of the next season starts. This can be used as a break for the players or a time to train for the upcoming season.

  7. Tournaments - Tournament based sports such as golf or tennis have different formats. There may also be tournaments held during the regular season or post-season. These can be single elimination or double elimination. They can be multiple rounds with a 'cut' like golf. SWA members are entitled to a 20% increase in task, errand, to-do list and project request deadlines as well as a 20% increase in any in-game viewing expectations.

  8. SWA Viewing year - The SWA members viewing season is the 365 day period that encompasses the SWA members viewing season. At the start of the new season, all components of the CBA reset, such as expenditures, requests, and any selections that are limited, such as adult rec, food and beverage selections, minor sports SWA budget selections.  All points collected carry over to the new sports viewing year.
